Project Description by Team: The project follows a dual approach: emphasizing identified functions based on analysis and local dialogues in the town center through a guidance system, and complementing them with additional uses in the recreational area of the harbor. Improved connectivity between the center and the harbor will be achieved through enhanced pathways, visibly designed and enriched with various amenities like benches, book-sharing cabinets, bicycle racks, fountains, etc., catering to both residents and visitors. This way, the path from the center to the waterfront and vice versa becomes more than just a functional route; it becomes an experiential space that allows people to appropriate the area. Various functions are offered to the residents, as well as tourists and, not least, the local flora and fauna.

Jury Statement: "The approach of using the old harbour building and enhancing it with a wooden structure is seen positive. Repurposing existing structures is an effective approach to minimize resource consumption and a sustainable strategy. Even so, it may be more difficult to integrate an existing structure compared to building a new one. The position of the building, opening up to the west and the fact that it is only one sole volume is very much appreciated. [...] the project addresses the landscape and integration of nature into the building, which is a positive aspect. The placement of the trees demonstrates an understanding of the interconnectedness of indoor and outdoor spaces. Yet, the green outdoor spaces are fragmented into small sections that it raises concerns about the suitable scale and character of the landscape. [...] "
